Bio

Steve Briody is a NY area guitarist. His latest CD, "Keep On Talkin" (2006), had 2 top-ten singles & was selected to be on the 2007 Grammy ballot for best pop instrumental album. It was his first major release, and features outstanding performances from Jeff Lorber, Eric Marienthal, Mario Cruz, Jack Knight, Bill Heller, and Greg Adams. Rippingtons' keyboardist Bill Heller produced it with impressive skill.

Steve, a relative of the late Tal Farlow, studied jazz guitar with legend Jack Wilkins and has been a busy musician in the NY area for some time, and enjoys playing in many genres.

He has worked with Dave Valentin, Mario Cruz' Natural Selection, Sean Grace, Don Grusin, Funk Filharmonik, Paula Atherton, Primo, Randy Brecker, Carl Fischer, Stealin' Dan, Jeff Lorber, Eric Marienthal, and Bernard Purdie. He also has been the house guitarist for the Long Island Music Hall of Fame Awards.

Steve also teaches guitar at Five Towns College, and is presently working towards his doctorate there as well. He currently has a lesson column in Guitar Player magazine, and hopes to publish a jazz guitar instructional book possibly in 2010. Steve thinks he is a knowledgeable Mets fan, and lives in Commack, Long Island with his wife Mary and 12-year-old son Sean, who is an expert on U.S. presidents.
