Reasons for music students to think about Five Towns College:

• It offers Jazz/Commercial Music Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral Degrees in areas such as performance and composition. Music Education and Sound Recording programs are strong there as well.
• Great location...about 45 minutes from NYC, jazz capital of the world.
• Its faculty members have recording and performing careers, such as saxophonist Felipe Salles, percussionist Bryan Carrott and well-respected guitar master Peter Rogine. Chuck Mymit, author of several Berklee theory books, is a professor also. Faculty members are accessible and helpful and occasionally try to bring students to their performances, recordings, and rehearsals.
• Visiting guest artists...a few months ago the college had legend Don Grusin as an artist-in-residence for workshops and a performance. Grammy winning flutist Dave Valentin was also at the college recently.
